    Ljungberg gone to West Ham.

Can't say I'm disappointed , he had been great for Arsenal, but in the last two years he just hasn't been doing the business.

Sad to see him go too, but he never recovered after that hip injury, was never the same player. I'd say he missed bergkamp too.

Its amazing that we could sell an old, slow, misfiring and injury prone Ljungberg for the same price we bough a young, fast, goal scoring and fit Ljungberg many years ago.

I'm disappointed with the reasons he's been giving to why he's left. Saying the lack of ambition in the club and the fact they didn't win anything in the last two years. what's he gonna win with West Ham??

And I think saying Henry leaving being a factor is a load of ****e.

Ive heard rumors that Ljungberg wanted big wages, something Wenger wasn't prepared to give a declining fringe player. Honestly, who thinks Ljungberg would get 10 league games for Arsenal next season at the rate of his deterioration? I'd say first team football was the main factor.

Papers are suggesting we are going to sell Senderos to Juventus for £3million. He's not great but I'd imagine we could get £5million for him.

If we sell him thats £16m(Henry) + £2m(Ali) + £3m(Freddy) + £3m(Senderos) = £24million in transfer revenue so far. With Reyes and probably Flamini on the way out thats surely another £10million.
How much have we spent so far?
Eduardo (£8m) + Fabianski (£3m) + Sagna (£6m) + the Norweigen lad (£2m) = £19million. We should have more cash to spend (if Wenger sees fit).

Shelton Hotel is where i'm staying that weekend. Don't know if its near any clubs (bars I'd say so). Its (allegedly) within walking distance of the emirates.

Anyone watching the friendly? Arsenal still seem to be lacking that killer finisher up front. And feckin Setanata, the 1st half was broadcast in widescreen but now for the 2nd I've got black borders!!

Was it widescreen or a 4:3 picture stretched to fill your screen?

Anyway I am watching on some Chinese channel and they are seriously lacking up front?

The box was set to widescreen and so was my TV so it was 16:9. But it changed in the 2nd half.
Anyways Arsenal looked fairly slow but their opponents season has started. no Walcott! I watched the match just so I could see him.

I know it was only a friendly but now I'm worried. Are we doomed to another season of dominating inferior teams but still losing?

    It's a pre-season match, it means nothing.

We got beaten by peterborough(i think) on preseason to the unbeaten season.

Who have we left from the unbeaten season? Lehmann, Toure, Gilberto - is that it?

Clichy(he played a few games when Cole was out, think hegot a medal), i just remember that because he made an ass of Gudjohsens goal at the bridge that year.

Diarra On His Way To Arsenal?

I would be happy to see this happening if true.

Not really sure what the point of signing him would be.

Giblerto is getting old, no debt there really bar Flamini, so he'd be a good signing. He seems to be very talented in the little we've seen of him

For the two central roles there is Fabregas and Gilberto as first choice. then there is Diaby and Denilson as back up to them (i rate both very highly) then Hleb and Rosicky are natural (albeit attacking) central midfielders too - and Flamini can do a good job in there too.

Still though, Diarra is a good propect who messed up going to chelsea, would be a good signing, if he was given chance, but i think Diaby and Denilson should be ahead of him anyway (as they are just as good and already there)

Was at the Arsenal - Inter game yesterday, didn't realize exactly how god RvP's goal was until I saw the replays. that was some fancy footwork!

Looked more like an illegal application of superglue to his boot to me.

Such potential. Wouldn't be surprised if we were talking about him in the same terms as Henry and Bergkamp this time next year.

Daiby and Denilson are more central midfiedlers in the classic not one nor the other, Diarra is a purely DM, which is sometimes needed, especially for the 4-5-1 Arsenal play in Europe. There is no cover there.

After last year with gallas, Maureen would die before he went to us.

I was a bit disappointed that neither Eduardo nor Vieira could play at the Emirates cup :(

Flamini and Gilberto can play there.

I just don't think there's any point adding a player at his level.

If any more players are coming in then, for me, it'd have to be someone like Joaquin, Alves, Essien etc. We have a squad full of very good players with bags of potential. There's no point adding more unless they're either 16 years old and for the future or better then anything we have.

    Just an opinion though.:D

Song is also a DM, and Denilson is more defensive than offensive.

Against most sides in the EPL, a DM isn't really all that important. I really can't see the need to get Diarra, although he looks to be a very good little player.

Reyes gone to Atletico for £8.1m according to SSN. **** it, £5m burn. Oh well, hopefully Wenger uses the considerable funds he has accumulated this year to sign a new winger.
