Sky HD install callback

Right, i know that sky can get my HD box up and running without a callback but it depends who you get on the phone.

When doing a "new installation" from the installer menu on sky boxes, it does a channel scan first and won't progress to do a callback without having a satellite feed.

Is there anyway to do this "new installation" thing without having a sat connected? i.e. by-pass the channel scan. There's no problem bringing the box ?to a friends with a phoneline, but it's a problem finding someone with a phone line in easy reach of their sky box and a sat feed, that would let me use their phoneline for a minute.

Callback will not work without the dish connected. No way around it.

You'll need to have the dish connected, otherwise I think the activation signal has a limited time being broadcast.

I got it set up without a phoneline, you just need the right person, however if the sky lottery is unkind to you, you can pay the extra (I think its 35euro) to have a non phone line activation.

got card paired up and hd channels activated about an hour ago without any phoneline or callback no problem. Thanks anonymous Scottish lady!! you saved me a lot of trouble
