I tried to deposit funds from a 3V voucher but I got a "transaction failed" error and the following message:
"Your credit card was successfully registered as a new deposit method. For security reasons, please send us a copy of your passport/ID and a copy of the credit card via fax to +49 (0)180 5 94 73 23, or via e-mail to service@wirecard.com. Please note, the requested amount has not yet been credited to your account. Once your details have been successfully validated you will be informed by our service team and you may then immediately use the credit card to deposit money to your Wirecard account."

Wtf?!! It's maybe only the fifth 3V voucher I've tried to use (had no problems with the other four) and I've only deposited very small funds so I haven't broken the funds limit.

Anyone else run into this? How do I fax them a copy of the credit card? Its a 3V voucher for heaven's sake!

I was worried this would happen to me. Because it looks like you've used 5 different credit cards to them they have asked for proof you own them.

    Try ringing them on + 49 89 44 24 20 00 or emailng them and explain to them it's a virtual card you're using.

I think a wirecard sticky is needed here. All the same questions over and over again.

I don't have AIB so I can't say. But surely there's an option there somewhere about doing a "transfer" or "payment" to another account? Just use the details of Wirecard's Dublin BOI account and make sure you include your reference number. It's fairly straightforward stuff....

You can add an account to transfer to by using the Transfer Money link on the left menu.

From there, you can do a "One off Transfer" and enter all the relevant details, not forgetting "description to appear in recipients statement" which should be your Wirecard a/c number.

Or, you can click Add Account box and enter the relevant details there. You'll need your Code Card.

With some business accounts though, you have to ring the support to let them add it manually.

anyone having problems with itunes not accepting Wirecard? Come to think of it they wouldn't accept one of my V3's before aswell! Saying that "The payment card you entered is not vvalid in Ireland."

Simple solution is to set up itunes as being in the USA or the UK.

Yeah I'm screwed. I told them it was a voucher and not a credit card. They then asked me to fax a "screenshot" of the voucher to them. But I had thrown away the voucher and copied the details into a .txt file.

I logged in to 3v transaction history with the voucher and took a screenshot of that and sent it to them. Haven't heard anything back.

That was over a week ago.

    Screwed.

:/ that sucks was planing on using the 20+5 thing 3v have going :/

Got a reply from them today. The screenshot of the 3V transaction history I sent to them isn't good enough. They need a pic of the voucher together with my name and address on it. Also I'll have to do this for each voucher in the future. thanks for listening

I lodged money in person at a BOI last Thursday and it still hasn't shown up. ...(

LOL the Irish banks often ignore the "narrative" section on paper lodgement dockets.

I used to lodge my weekly pay cheques in BOI/AIB/PTSB and on those that had the space for the narrative I wrote "Wages week 17" and so on, someitmes it reached my statement, but most times it appeared just as "Lodgement 0002154" which was the number black 1970s computer font known as MICR on the end of the docket. Now, in my case it didn't matter, but we can assume that the BOI account of wirecard has as least 10 lodgements of EUR 10 going into it each week, if one of those lacks the narrative of a users wirecard account then wirecard AG don't won't whose wirecard it was intended for. I aimagine wirecard make a nice profit form this, indeed they encourage direct debits as their credit card topup fee of 3 percent is exhoribant (it costs then only 1.2 percent to accept, and possibly less as they are principles of Visa and Mastercard)

another reason to get it setup online and test with a small amount. once it works it works.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Ok, so I registered on wirecard.com and did an international transfer with AIB online banking and put in the IBAN/BIC/Swift that I found in the "my account" > "my details" tab. This was yesterday and it still hasn't shown up (no surprise it says it takes about 3 days) but would it have been better to transfer to the BOI account on the "local" pdf link or would that take even longer?

Has anyone actually got the plastic/offline card yet? Do you have to be approved like a normal credit card or does it work on the same basis as the virtual one, only you have a physical card and can use it offline and pay a fee?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

No plastic cards to Irish users due to the govt tax on cards.

As for AIB it normally takes 48 hours via international transfer. If do you it online via a BOI it would take 48 hours to reach BOI from AIB and another 24 for wirecard to send it to your account.

Cool, hopefully it'll appear in my account soon then:) I didn't just put the account number in the message though, i.e., I didn't put "44444444444" in the field, I put "Account Number: 444444444444 (my name)" so hopefully that doesn't slow things down.

Is there any work around for the plastic card? What if you got it delivered to an address out of Ireland?
