    Hi,

Maybe a stupid question, but I would appreciate if somebody could confirm me or not that if I set up a SSL certificate at the root level of my website (https://www.mywebsite.com), googlebot and other will still be able to access my index or ?

    Thank you very much

Yeah https should make no difference to googlebot, but just be careful that you don't have duplicate pages like:

    http://www.somedomain.com/page.html
    https://www.somedomain.com/page.html

You can use mod_rewrite or similar so that if someone goes to the http version they're redirected to the https version.

Be warned that https is quite a lot slower than http - I'd advise only introducing https when you need to rather than have the entire site as https.
