User name in phpmyadmin

I while back I install phpmyadmin on my laptop running Dapper Drake, tonight I decied to play with it, went to 127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin. But i keep getting #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I know the password is right as I only have one password on my laptop, so how do i find the user…
