anti-vir problem

hi,
is anyone else that uses avira avti-vir having problems trying to update, i havent been able to do so now for 3 days. the update process starts but then hangs on the 'connecting to dl4.avgate' ect.., i thought it might have been a problem with my desktop but its happening on the laptop as well.

Can you ping the server (dl4.avgate.net)?

Ok.

Click on the Start Menu and click Run. Enter cmd into the box and hit OK. In the black box that appears on the screen enter ping dl4.avgate.net and press Enter. Post what it prints back to you here.

ok here's whatv the ping said:

So you're able to see the server from your box then.

While they may be just doing some work on the server at the minute, perhaps you had better download and run HijackThis, just so we can rule out anything that might be blocking your AV from seeing the update site.

just checked the antivir forums and they are updating their servers, thanks for the help aidan
