    I've done a google search on this and nothing is showing up.

    I had security issues and removed jkhhg.dll, but this one is puzzling me still.

    Anyone know what it's for and if it's a nasty, how to get rid of it

    A file search (including hidden files shows it's in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32

    Anyone who knows about these things could take a zipped copy and have it checked out?


    EDIT: Dr. Web says its trojan.juan

    Go into safe mode and run an anti-virus scan. Have you got one up to date?

    +Ruu. I have about 10 anti-virus working at mo, but none identified this one. So I loaded the file onto some site or other and it scanned and one scanner -Dr. Web says it's malicous. Then I just went to the file and deleted it and used ccleaner to clear the registry. The computer seems to be okay, but I still have all IE add-ons disabled.

    Sounds like you had the Vundo trojan. Anti-virus/spyware programs have trouble dealing with this infection. Chances are there are some remains/other stuff so I'd recommend doing the following.

    Please download the self-extracting version of HijackThis from here:

    HijackThis_sfx download

    Save HijackThis_sfx to your desktop.

    Double-click the file then click the Unzip button. Then close the Self-Extractor window.

    Using My Computer/Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\HijackThis and double click on HijackThis.exe to run it. If you would like to make a shortcut for your Desktop so it's more easily accessable, right click HijackThis.exe and choose Send To > Desktop (create shortcut).

    Please run the extracted HijackThis.exe from now on. Delete any copies of HijackThis.zip that you have saved.

    Open HijackThis and click Do a system scan and save a log file. Copy the entire contents of that log and post it here
