Confused on Version of BF1942!

I've had battlefield (1942 btw) for a few years and I still can't figure out what version everyone plays on because when i try to go online only about ten servers that i can play show up, the rest show up too but you can't play them, error message says that I have the wrong version and do I want to update, but it refers me…

Finally what I want to ask is what version do most servers play on for BF1942 and same question for DC.

looks like 1.61 is the latest patch, have you got it? You have to download the full 1.6 then download the 1.61 incremental and update it. Almost every server has the latest version. I'm not too sure if DC requires a seperate patch as i've never played it
