Looking for small quantity of copper sheeting?

Hi
I'm looking for small quantities of copper sheeting, maybe off cuts, trimmings and some bigeer pieces of about 400x 400mm or 600x 600mm. I used to be able to buy this from a builder's merchant a few years ago but the rocketing price of copper now means that you can only buy this by the complete roll- a roll now costs nearly €800! I want this metal for some sculpting/ metal work projects I have in mind. I've tried a lot of plumbing/ builder's centres etc but no one can help me; does anyone here have any suggestions, where can i (legally!) get what i need without spending €800. I'm an amateur. Thanks.
