A lot of the Irish poker players want to play from the US during the WSOP tournament but US ip's are banned. I have a server (Centos) which I could run some kind of proxy on I'm sure to mask their originating IP. Yeah?

Anyone help me further then that? thats about the sum of what I know about proxies or how they are set up or used.

I'm sure it's doable but wouldn't the poker sites have questions about a lot of players coming from the same IP?

You probably have an ssh server running on your box right? Ssh can used as a SOCKS proxy for the browser.

There's a ton of stuff on the web on how to do this http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&q=ssh+socks+proxy&btnG=Google+Search so I won't attempt to document it again. If you have any questions on setting it up or using it post back.

Apache also has a module that allows forward proxying http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_proxy.html.

Another possibility for them is something like this http://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/index_en.html or maybe this http://tor.eff.org/.

Install a TOR client on each PC - there's a decent chance that the exit machine won't have a US IP.

TOR is crazy slow though, the lads would experience major lag during the game.
