Myself and my girlfriend were going to get married in a year or so,however with probable visa problems for her over here we might now have to push it through 6 months earlier.

Without been a cheapskate we could afford a less exzspensive wedding, anyone have any ideas on the bottom line for such? It will be in a registry office in Dublin, roughly I will have a max of 25 guests and she will have 7/8.

    Thanks.

Hi uma - for 32 / 33 guests maybe think about hiring a restaurant instead of the ususal reception with band / dj. If you found a small enough place you could do an exclusive hire. This may not be what you had in mind but you could try the Fish Bar in Dublin 1 - on the Liffey on the northside, in the IFSC - it only holds 30 - 40 and if you booked it there is no cost for exclusivity. The food is simple enough fare - various types of seafood with chips or salad! Desserts are to die for & they have wine & beer. I am suggesting it as I did a Xmas party there before and they were very good. You could look at other places too and maybe consider hiring a DJ who could set up in a corner and provide a bit of extra atmosphere.

Hey Miss, that sounds like a good idea.

I guess you could hire a restaraunt out for one night without costing you the earth.

    Thanks for the tip.:D

Hi I have a very compact Disco setup as I use a laptop. I recently did a 40th birthday on the top floor of the Clarenden Bar. It is very small and I used my PA speakers. These can be placed on thier sides and tucked away but still give a good sound. If you visit http://www.clarendon.ie/tour.html you will see how compact it is. There was about 30/35 people and was perfect! (if I do say so myself!) Check my website for more info.
