Do I need some kind of permission to sell artwork in a shopping centre? I've seen some art on sale in Dundalk's Superquinn, it was put up at a shelf at the main corridor.

Alternatively, is there another way I could sell my artwork? I don't want to go from house to house, because I'd have very little time for this..

I'd try to have a small exhibition in your local library. I had an exhibition in my local library last year. I had no previous experience or anything but the librarians were only delighted to accomodate me. It's nice because it's less formal than a gallery plus they don't charge a commission, well they didn't for me.

All really good advice. www.etsy.com is another good site for setting up your own online shop for selling your art to an international audience.

You'd definitely need permission to sell in a shopping centre or any retail space. Keep an eye out for artists selling their work locally and don't be shy in asking them how they went about getting a spot.

    Good luck!

Are there any local groups in your area, either a craft group or an art group.
Craft groups, if proactive will organise fairs or rent stand space.
