As far as I know, they're EXTREMELY fast in comparison to even the best of torrents and I have heard of people getting up to 500kb/sec.

I hate the download overhead of download article headers and lists.

http://v3.newzbin.com/browse/category if you're looking for a better solution to that.

    alt.binaries.multimedia.irishgirls ftw

Pay as you go on Astraweb - 90Gb for $ 25 and it never expires - 68 days retention at the moment. Ideal if like me you only download 7 or 8 Gb a month. Takes me the year to use it up. Grabit and Newzbin combined make it easy to download.:)

I've always used Easynews in the past, though Astraweb sounds interesting. Might give them a gander.

Easynews had a Zip Manager on their website which was very handy.

Have to put in a mention for Easynews.com.

Been with them over a year and everything has been great. They have a very handy web based setup as well as the normal Newsreader one.
There's an excellent search engine with the web based side of the service.

If you decide to join up, please mention my username KBL007. You never know, I may be able to get a free gig or something. :D

    Check it out.

I'd also recommend Easynews. I've been with them for over 3 years. You can download everything via their web site which will also zip together files for easier downloading. I've always gotten max speeds from them as well.

Just signed up to this, it didn't even need a credit card (couldn'tinput one on the signup form even if I wanted to). Works fine.
