Anyone with experience of EI Systems computers? Isn't that an Irish company? I saw their laptops in Dixons but can't find their web site.

Dont think they're Irish, I thought ESystems and EI Systems machines were both PC World/Currys/Dixons own brand machines they sell in store..but they don't advertise that they own the brands...

eMachines are still very much on the go in the USA & are actually owned by Gateway.

EISystems are not the same group & have little Info available.
The nearest you will get to them is here:

It would be interesting to see what Dixons or PCworld would tell you about them? especially if you claimed to be a potential purchaser of a laptop from them & wanted to know about after sales service?

I've found them to be actually fairly OK - my main gripe being most of their machines are as ugly as hell.

Depending on what your needs are they are probably fine. I have used the EISystem & I had an old eMachine for 5 years and never had a bother with either of them.

The only real problem with all the off the shelf computers is that you get a little bit of good & an awful lot of crap in them compared to the custom built system.

You know what I mean? You either get a nice amount of RAM & a crappy HDD capacity or you get a large HDD but less RAM, in most cases you get a fairly crap Video card too.

At least with the custom build you decide what goes in so you end up with a decent Spec overall. Like I said though, It's all down to what you want to do with it & of course the price.

They are not bad budget systems, but all of their hardware is sorced from the cheaperst manufacturer.
