Why do Munster clubs dominate the AIL first division?

    Pretty obvious question, Munster have less schoolboy players than Leinster or Ulster, Munster schools regularly get beaten by Leinster schools when the 2 play each other, Leinster and Ulster tend to dominate the underage teams but what happens when things turn senior?

    How does one province often half 3 or 4 teams in the top 6, while Ulster struggles to get any team into the play-offs?

    just add to daveirl, there is probably more of a local feeling to the clubs in munster which would keep them playing longer and for each other more.

    Tbh, were I live there are loads of local enough big rugby clubs. There wouldn't be any local allegiance to these, only ones formed through junior rugby or school. Without this perhaps you're less likely to keep playing or stay in one club.

    Perhaps this is difference in Munster and works for their benefit?
