Antwerp and Engagement Rings

    Myself and the missus went to Antwerp during the week to get an engagement ring having heard many stories about others who have done it. I proposed to my beloved previously but really wanted the ring purchase to be a joint thing.

    So off we went i have to say it was a well worthwhile experience. For a start, its cheaper hands down. Secondly the recommended jewellers give you the time and day no matter what your budget. They explain everything in great detail and arent in the slightest bit pushy. They pretty much design the ring from scratch for you.

    We chose Harolde Phillippe to do the ring (www.philippe-harold-jewellers.be) as he was recommended on AAM and gave us the best impression.

    Anyway its well worth doing.

    Sorry forgot to say, the reason why it was Antwerp cos its the "diamond capital of the world" - 70-80% of the worlds diamonds are imported to Antwerp before being shipped elsewhere (including Ireland)
