whats the best way to find that out? from what i could see there were only minor differences in resolution and data rate....

neacy69: The Ulead Video Toolbox that is on the cd does the job fine. just make sure ye chose to re-encode to divx as opposed to mp4 (read that in a review somewhere). It does however resize them to 320 x 240. Would prefer if there was the option to leave them in their original resolution as that would be better for tv playback

It might be an AC3 sound limitation.. the Zen:Vision M won't play any XviD / DivX with AC3 sound.

Check the codecs in the file using AVICodec

Scruff, can you try "Prison Break - Season 1 - Episode 1 - Pilot.avi" on the player again, without the spaces in the file name?

nope. had read on the 442 forums that that was something people wanted in a firmware patch. only way around it I see is to use a hirearchical folder tree and keep the file names short.

Got mine today, but the software wont run on my pc because the disk is scratched so annoying.

Any chance could anyone burn me a copy of the driver disk, I'll send a Stamped addressed envelope.

Or if it would be possible to send as an attachment, could someone send it to my email: billyleen@gmail.com

    Thanks.

been having some problems with converting Xvid for this PMP. I tried using the software that comes with and I think its a peice of sh*t (maybe i just doing it wrong) using a PSP file convertor at the min I'll update with how that goes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,818 ✭✭✭neacy69

OK so the PSP video convertor worked well.
It converted the non-playable xvids into MP4 which are working perfect on the PMP.

I tried using APEX video convertor but the sound was ou of sync with the video
    so try using
http://www.pspvideo9.com/ for conversions im using the 1.74 version and havent looked at the beta versions (freeware)

iriverter i've always liked, so if your looking for a converter, might be worth testing it.

    1) The firmware on my device reads D.1.2.1 On the neuros site, they have firmware 1.2.4 and 2.0. can I update my firmware even though I am well below their update level.

2)my player doesnt play any of my file copies, only audio, no video.
i tried converting into mp4 using the pspconverter too. but no use.

3)tv out doesnt seem to work. only audio appears on TV, no video on TV. video only on the player

    any help or suggestions welcome

havent done it yet myself but from reading the firmware release notes you need to incrementally upgrage 1.2.1 -> 1.2.2 -> 1.2.4 -> 2.0.0
You can get all the firmwares and release notes here

I haven't tried updating any firmware on my player as of yet so I cant answer this

When you connect to the TV you will hear the sound through the TV. The when you press the "TV/Lock" button on the player the video will appear on the TV. You may need to change the setting in the settings menu for the TV output from NTSC to PAL. I have been using the TV function no problems so far....
