    The latest addition is the Megane Renaultsport dCi 175.

    Yep, you read that right. It's a diesel hot hatch with a 175bhp, 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine.

    More important is the 267lb ft of torque, which helps the car see off 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds and hit 137mph.

    Not that impressive compared with the petrol-powered 225 model, but that torque means the dCi model is swifter from 50- to 75mph in second gear, so traffic light GPs are there for the taking.
    Surely that can't be right? A diesel doing 75mph in 2nd gear? :eek:
