    Hi All
Weird title I know but need some help.
My GF's Sister is running a small horse stud and during the time when she's expecting a horse to foal she has to monitor the horse 24/7.
I was wondering what the best way was to set up maybe 4 cameras in the stud that she would be able to monitor from the house (bout 100m away).
Preferrably a wireless connection to the house as there is a field with horses in it between the stud and the house!
Either a PC or a TV based monitor would be grand.

There are a couple of solutions you can look at:-

    First solution
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&DOY=search&ModuleNo=99609&criteria= which is a handheld 4 channel receiver, that can pick up feeds from up to four different cams.
    or
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=98258&doy=2m4 for connection to a tv

Second solution would involve IP enabled camera's, each requiring power and data connects back to a switch, which would in turn be bridged to the main house using a 5Ghz transmitter receiver pair, and then to your pc room.

    Disadv's of both:-

First solution, Transmission specifications might be at the boundaries of your limits . It will probably be prone to interference as the 2.4Ghz band is quite a busy one, with being taken up by DECT phones, WiFi, Microwaves etc.

Second solution, will probably require a fair amount of work and configuration. The solution would be better served using PoE cameras (which are basically, cameras which take power and data from a network cable). But these will require a PoE switch, which will probably be costly.

Its a fairly specific solution and will require some decent investment in order to get it to work correctly.
The first solution might the quickest and rough and ready available.
