What modern games would I be able to play at good frame rates with the above card? Its for a mate and he is mad into games like Company of Heroes...Would it play Company of heroes well enough?

    Thanks

Company of heroes will defintely be playable with low to medium settings at 1024x768 with the X1300 Pro.

Any of the Half Life games or Source engine powered games like Counter Strike or SiN will also run well on those cards.

In general it is a low end part so older games run best & newer games must sacrifice details to be playable.

Be sure to use recent drivers god knows what Dell stick on it.

Ok for anything really as long as you scale settings accordingly but for a games player, I'd really just consider it a temporary gap stop until I could afford something better.

Company of Heroes will run fine in Single Player and 1v1 Multi, but that game slays practically any card when it reaches 3v3 or 4v4 stages. So if you plan taking it online...you'll have to revert to low settings.

To be honest I'd just sell it straight away and put the money into something else.

    Thanks all for the comments.

my mate is ordering a Dell 9200 (NPIE5-D03925B) with a 22inch lcd with 2gig memory, core duo 6400,2year warranty and the X1300(pity its not a bit better). It would cost him an extra €200 for the 7900gs on top of the €1130 he is planning on spending...

There's an X800 for 70 on adverts.ie - So, he could just, for example, sell the X1300Pro for somewhere around 40 euro and for an extra 30 he'd have a card twice as powerful.

Sounds like a plan alright, but would he void his warranty with Dell if he changed it.

No he won't. I asked them before and they told me opening the case up and changing parts within reason i.e. graphics card, ram, etc doesn't invalidate the warranty. I'm sure if you started pulling off crazy mods on your machine it would but otherwise no.
