    Hi all,

Anyone have any luck doing this? I know its probably against their charter blah blah, but is it possible?

Does it require some decryption or something?

I know nothing about anything, by the way..

I'm moving into an apartment (hopefully) soon that has Magnet pre-installed. I'd be interested to hear how you get on with this, From what I could see there was no TV points in the apartment only ethernet/phone points.. Is there a converter to go into the back of the TV or a special Magnet set top box?

    Lizard

Magnet is IPTV. So its over ethernet into a set top box, then SCART or composite or whatever from the stb to the TV.

You can put a tv wherever there is ethernet, but they charge you extra for extra stbs.

I assume the MPEG2 (or MPEG4?) video that's being streamed to your STB is still encrypted just like any conventional digital cable system, meaning you can only use their STBs.

You can't redistribute Magent. Except by video sender/analogue cable etc from their set box.

Was MPEG2. They are or have changing to MPEG4 to save bandwidth.
