A few weeks away from the big day but already the pressies have started arriving. Herself wants to rip the paper off straight away to have a look but I want to keep them unopened until after we get back from honeymoon to offset some of the anti-climax from such a great few weeks.

    Who's right?

You're not married yet therefore you can't open them yet. Just like you can't open birthday presents until your birthday and Christmas presents until Christmas day.

its up to the guest imo what they get you for a present, but you will find some guests will ask you what you prefer

This has already been discussed in depth. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055048920 I didn't even have to look further than the first page to find it.

I say wait till you get back but then i am the type of person who puts off opening Christmas presents to the last possible moment to prolong the excitement :)

I opened them as they came in but i'm useless. It was handy though cause i'd practically all the thank you card done before we went on honeymoon. It's good too cause cards can fall off and you don't know who gave you what. (justify justify!)

Open them ... if a guest gets you something that is on the on the wedding list and unpurchased - then it gives you a chance to prevent someone else buying an item off your list that you already have!
