    Hi would anyone have info on companys that take on students for the summer?,studying computer networking and looking to get a bit of experience under my belt..any info greatly appreciated

    Hey Timmy ... I'm also a Networking student and we did our work placement lastyear.

    Here's a few companys that took on students:

    UTStarCom
    Health Services Executive Shared services
    Wicklow County Council
    Blacknight solutions
    Wyatt (Spelling?)
    Middlelands HSE
    Xilinx (Spelling?)

    mmm can't think of the rest

    best bet is to try and get a helpdesk job for 3 months. Very difficult to get anything else tbh.

    I would seriously suggest a larger telecoms company..... especially start-ups, in general start-up have alot of work and little pay, but the lack of pay will eventually pay off as experience is the biggest payer of all. I would seriously suggest companies like
    • Eircom
    • Smart
    • Magnet
    • Digiweb
    • ESAT
    • etc
