Can anyone explain college grading to me and GPA?

What grades are there? A, B, C, D, PASS, FAIL? I should really know by now but I'm still unsure. What are the % required for each?

    What's a GPA? How's it worked out? What's a good GPA?

    Thanks

here is how gpa works in the US.

If you are wondering about how its done in Ireland, thats another matter. UCD for example, not sure about the numbers but an A is 70+ i think.

The US system is the most known, where 4.0 is perfect straight A's.

Yeah, I'm asking about IE. I'm in ITB if that helps for the explanation. I'll whip off an email to the exam guys and ask them, but it's late, and I'm tired :)
