Looking for 2000AD Prog 1

Looking for something unusual to give as a 40th birthday present to a family member.

Anyone have a copy of 2000AD Prog 1 (with free gift if this is not a ridiculous question) that they are willing to sell for a reasonable price ? or even a link to where I can keep an eye out for this over the coming weeks.

Appear to be a few dingy copys on Ebay at the moment but none of them have free gift and most of them dont look like something you could frame to look well and make a nice gift.

Don't think you'd find one with the free gift, think the best you can hope for is the comic itself in good condition. If that doesn't work out have you thought about giving a page of original art? Some artists sell their stuff over the night and it can be quite reasonably priced.

yeah i agree with shades - finding a mint copy with the free gift will be a tall order and won't come cheap.

Original art is nice, I've got some lovely stuff [comic book pages, silkscreen prints, simple pencil drawings, animation drawings etc etc] I've bought, been gifted or traded for over the years and they do look very good framed and hanging on a wall.

If I cant get a nice looking copy I guess its down to artwork ...... guessing Rogue Trooper or Anderson PSI would be a real winner if I can find them.

You'll be hard pressed finding a copy with a space spinner alright.

To be honest, I'd much prefer some original artwork myself

I don't know what your spending limit is, but there are some excellent original pieces of cover art on ebay. Quite pricey. But pretty amazing.

A mint copy (ie with the spinner) is about €150 the last time I looked.
