Confirmation themed crafts!!

    Hi all,

    I'm doing Art lessons with the kids in the school I work every friday. At the moment I am in 6th class and they are preparing for their Confirmation. The class teacher wants the class to do Confirmation themed art, that can be displayed on the church walls on their confirmation day. So far I have been stumped with what to do... we tried some collage with the "Fruits of the Spirit" and painted some "Gifts of the Spirit"... they came out... ok..ish! But i have a feeling that the parents may think the Juniors did them!

    They are only a small class, 18 in total, so I was hoping something personal for each child to work on!! If anybody has any ideas I would be so grateful!!! We'll try anything!

    how about getting each student to create a painting, collage etc; on words that come up often during their preparation for confirmation..
    For example Dove, holy spirit, fire, the beatitudes etc...don't worry about how perfect it is done, as long as it has been enjoyed ...

    Or if you have access to a camera and printer, try a large piece using photographs of the kids as material to make up a dove collage etc, photograph them in front of white background and place a white piece of cloth around their shoulders so colour is limited to their face and hair, (you could do similar with fire using red,orange and yellow backgrounds) ...

    You could create frames just by cutting squares of card and pasting it over the art work....it gives a pro looking finish
