How odd! I did it in november when I did it. Perhaps they're not running it this year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

There was one in November, but it was so popular that they decided to run another week in March.

Cool. Perhaps try emailing them? Or turning up at the door in the middle of the night in the lashing rain holding ... a physics book.

it would be even more impressive if you came from sligo, with a physics book on the end of a pitchfork, wearing torn dungarees and a checked shirt and unravelled straw hat with a massey ferguson parked 20 metres from the door, claiming that 'fishics? its well shavage!'

I got 8 days in RTE in Feb. Working as a runner in Seoige and O Shea mainly.
Got a few days with Fair ****ty too. Got to star in it also ;)
You really have to take it upon yourself to go talking to people.
Just by asking around and saying 'Hi, im here on work experience, would you mind if i had a look around?' Usually they say no problem, and then they start asking about you interests, and explaining how things work, and what they do. I got so much insight into the industry, how people got into it, and what they do. Camera men were showing me the cameras, and explaing what they do, and how. Directors were taking me up to the booths and explaining all the screens and exactly what they do.
I saw sooo much. The late late show, the cafe, the afternoon show, prime time, etc etc. The sets are amazing. And most people are really nice and friendly.

I got 2 days at the IFTA's (irish film and television awards) i the rds.
I was working as a runner there too.
I got to stay for the awards ceremony and if you watch the red carpet show that was on rte 2, you can see me running up and down the red carpet doing various jobs :)

I went to the military in infermary road for a day over the mid term break,
and i got a week in a radio station after easter.
Gonna take a week off school :)

Oh snap I almost wore wellies today! But then didn't...then it started raining and I regretted it. So I'll probably wear wellies tomorrow. Are you looking forward to going to the Planetarium? What research project did you get?

More than likely will be going to GlaxoSmithKline manufacturing operations for a week, which should be really interesting. Hopefully will get into the labs in there.

If I do get into Glaxo, I will learn why lucozade sport keeps you going 33% longer! FACT

God I remember when i did my work experience, all of three years ago.

I did it in a lawyers and it was the best 3 weeks ever(did both sessions there)
Got to talk to strung out drug dealers and do loads of cool stuff, after work drinks everyday and didn't have to stuff one envelope!! Ah the simpler times!
