What in your opinion would be the duties/role of a lab assistant working for the irish blood transfusion service involve?

Well it depends really what your job title would be?? I would imagine that you would be testing specimens for different criteria, e.g. for their cell counts, possible pathogens, blood types, rhesus factors etc.
