What was the name of that book?

    I'm desperately trying to remember the name of a book. It was a children's book that was written by an Irish author and I think I read around '93 or '94 but can't be too sure.
    It was about these magic stones that came to life and got in adventures trying to protect the environment (I think). As far as I can remember, there was a blue called Gorm who had a beard and was the leader of the group. There was a green one who was a girl. She was fairly big and I think her name may have started with an 'S'.

    I think there were a few in the series, at least two. If anyone can help relieve my suffering I'd very much appreciate it!!
