connect latop 2 desktop 2 run antivirus?

Hi, I've posted this before but probably in the wrong thread.... PROB: I think I have a virus on my desktop..rarely used as I have a laptop so the antivirus on the desktop has gone out of date. I can enter my windows password but after that the mouse just stops working, hangs. I now need to use the desktop more but can't.…

Hi,
I've posted this before but probably in the wrong thread....

I have Kaspersky Antivirus on my laptop so if I connect my laptop to the desktop and run Kaspersky on it will it work or will I just infect the laptop. God I hope I'm making sense...I'm confusing myself?:rolleyes:
I can't use a disc as I bought Kaspersky off the internet.
PLEAASE HELP:D

Try tapping F8 at bootup and select Last Known Good Configuration. In order to scan the desktop computers hard drive it would have to be removed and placed in another machine.
