    :D

Was in bed early enough, woke up (got woken up! little un promptly went back to sleep) at 0430, thinking it was probably a little later, tuned on TMS, and once I heard Collingwood and Pieterson, there was no going back :)

Brisbane seems such a distant memory......though I can't see this being anything but a draw.

I think putting Aus in today is the only way to try force a win. If Ponting goes soon I may change my opinion of draw.

    Crazy dellusions?
The home side lost Justin Langer for 4 to slump to 1 for 28 at stumps on day two but coach John Buchanan said a victory was not out of the question with the Adelaide Oval pitch playing so slowly.

"Make 700 and bowl them out for under 150 on the last day," Buchanan told a news conference in Adelaide when asked about his team's strategy.

"There's still a win on offering, there's three days to go, but we're not in a position to dictate that right at the moment, but we first have to negotiate the new ball.

    Mike.

    290-5

Alas Ponting got more than 100 runs after being dropped.

    Hussey out in the 90s.

Hoggard brilliant, taken all 4 to fall today and was bowler when Ponting was dropped.

    312-5 close of play

    Ponting 142

good fight back but the aussies need 40 more runs to avoid the follow on,it could have been so much better only for giles:(

Still pretty good, did'nt see Giles non-catch but it sounded like it was'nt a shoe-in. The remaining 5 wickets could be got for 100-120 more? Then England bats to a 400 total lead and gives the Aussies a day to beat it, they'll be tempted and if the bowlers/fielders do thier job England should win (ideal senario admittedly!).

it was an easy catch to take and they had a great chance for a run out aswell

All that hard work for nothing? Collingwood or Flintoff would want to get a decent score or it could well be 2-0

Never think of one team being ahead like in football because that's what the score says. England aren't ahead by much and Australia will get to bat again when they bowl England out, and will more than likely win. Take our word for it that England are pretty f*cked. Understanding different situations in cricket comes from watching alot of it. The only hope left for England is that they manage to bat for a good while yet. If they make about 120 which is probably being generous they will almost definitely lose. Once Collingwood goes they've lost basically. England are playing for a draw, so they want to bat for as long as possible. This way the Aussies won't have enough time to get the runs they need to win the match.

    2-0, don't believe this. F*cking sham

Yes but they can't afford to lose wickets too quickly (or for a low score)

if we're all out and only hold a lead of say 200 then Aussies will definitely chase that down in a day +1/4

    need someone to steady things!

ahead by only 117 runs and thats not much, ideally england would want 350+ lead and try and bowl the aussies out in their 2nd innings
