Jay carey was resident in Gravity if memory serves not the asylum although he did play there. It's kinda hard to say who the residents in the asylum were but dilly and pressure were certainly regulars towards the end as in played most weeks.

Just to let yas know the second back to the old skool night is happening on the 24th november in the belvedere bar. we already have warren k confirmed and we hope to have mick walsh confirmed within the next day or two. this will be a night of asylum tunes and will be a night not to be missed. were hoping to have an mc too. il post full details up over the next few days

dont worry lads im not thick obviosly warren is on last haha. and keno is only bringin tunes from the erly 90's to mid 90's coz thats the type of nite we w3ant this time. heres the flyer

thanks lads gud to see yas arent slaggin us off for tryin to get sum decent nights goin ya know. ye dat night sounds pretty good ya know but warren will bring a good crowd. plus the resident is really good hes unknown but very very good . i just hought id tell yas we wer tryin to get those so yas see the type of djs were tryin to get ya know. and ya keno wont be playin anytin hard coz the resident and warren play the same style stuff it wouldnt fit in ya know

when the lads use to go to london everyweek to bring back yokes for our
consumption they used to bring records back to.
in the asylum in the early days there was alot of hardcore,jungle and
breakbeat played.the name was taken from a record called the mentalism ep
by dj sparks.that wasn't the tune that was played it was the b side called
escape.if you know it,its an asylym classic.
big respect to the ballyer lads for putting the money together for opening the club.....we were all off our heads when it was named but i can still remember it and have the tune.....ah;)

my da wasnt there when it was named! the asylum was originally opened by a man called dermot leyton, it was run by a chap called joe oneill, they couldnt really get it to take off so they asked the auldfella to come in and take a 50% share because he had experiance running nights like "BEYOND" and "BEYOND THE SECOND COMING" (fukn great nights did a trip at the second coming spent the whole night freaked that me da would catch me) anyway it was already called the asylum when the auldfella got involved, so i dont know who named it or where it came from but it was the asylum before anyone from ballyer got involved.

them 2 couldnt run a bath sully...a 50% share at the time was buttons thats why your da approached the lads....your old lad had more of a say than those 2......ask your mate heavy next time he's in your taxi..and by the way you still owe me for a mad bastard you got on tick..ha ha:)
