Church donation??

I was informed recently that i need to allow money as a donation for the preist & altar boys.. No one can put a figure on it.. Any help?? Don't want to give him too little yet i can't afford to give a tonne of cash either. please help!!:confused:

My dad told me that on his wedding day, my uncle went and gave the priest his donation, the priest came back and said that it wouldn't be enough and he would need more.

I was shocked that a priest would be so mean. IT was my mom's local church down the country. I'd have told him to **** off
