Ive had no luck getting Linux drivers for my Live 24bit off creative. There is some stuff on open sourve, but a lot of it seems to be taken offline.

What can I do to get by Creatives brutal driver support?

I'm surprised your sound card didn't just work out of the box. I can't remember the last time I actually installed a sound-driver in linux. Certainly pre-2000.

As Khannie says any creative sound cart I've come across has been kernel supported (snd-emu10k1). Does this driver not work for your specific Audigy? Have you tried a more recent 2.6 kernel which will have an up to date version of ALSA?

I'm not too familiar with the current Creative products. Is the Live 24bit an external unit?

I think the audigy uses a different driver alright (10k1 chips are on older cards), but should definitely still be supported.

i can use the emu10k1 driver.

what linux distribution etc are you using. I've got a SB Live and currently have an SB Audigy 2 ZS working fully in linux.
