    there are many things to weigh up here. might help you to relax more if you're in surroundings you know. But then it might make her feel like an outsider if you end up chatting to other locals (unless she is local too). I'd go 'foreign', somewhere a little upmarket (but not flashy), quiet so you're not shouting at each other over the music, but enough going on to stimulate conversation should things be a little awkward!
