    Hi guys,

Just wonderin how many here have upgraded from a 2.5 to a 3.3? What are your general experiences, does it run hotter/cooler, more or less reliable? How big of a performance difference does it actually make?

I got one a few weeks ago, but as I only get to use my truck at most one day a week it was last weekend before I actually got to the point where i could start tuning her and having a proper bash. I'm sure I still hadn't gotten her 100% but the difference in performance was already very obvious. So much so that it actually stripped the primary gears in the transmission :( So I was wondering is this likely to happen again? Should the 2.5 gearbox be able to handle the power of a 3.3 engine?

    Is that on a T-Maxx ?
I put a 3.3 in my revo to replace the 2.5r and it goes like $h1t off a shovel..:D

I loosened off the slipper clutch a touch to releive the drivtrain from getting trashed.
I have read that the revo can take the extra grunt of the 3.3 but the older (2.5) T-Maxx cannot..;)

Yeah, a 2.5 tmaxx. I reckon if it happens again I'll look for a new transmission.

Woohoo, its like a mastercard ad:

    New 3.3 engine - 140
    new transmission - 60
    2.5 tmaxx - 350

truck being laid up every week waiting for repairs - Priceless :P
