PWMIC temps very high on WC'd DFI nf4-ultra UT

My PWMIC Temp goes through the roof(80C+) when im dual priming, im @ 2.7 ghz 10 x 270 FSB, anyone here have the same problem or should i even worry about it? and if it needs to be cooled how should i go about it?

this can happen when using watercooling as there is no air from a heatsink fan on the cpu to cool them, try install a fan pointing toward the general area of the capacitors around the cpu socket blowing out the back of the case.

Hmm.. is there heatsinks on the actual PWMIC and if not would you reccomend installing some

some new ocing mobos have them, like dfi's, but most dont, you can buy them in some specialist ocing shops online, yeh they can be pretty handy, try a fan first though

I had the same problem, solved it by putting in a 120mil blowing air onto them and the ram, then later by a crossflow in my stacker.

or were did you get it and how much.

I made a bracket the other day to hold a 80mm fan above my ram and PWMICs..

I made it out of an aluminium 5 1/4" drive bay cover and just folded it in a vice...

Just make something, its a lot more fun and saves money for better things:)

Tbh with the way it works, its hard to replicate it just using a 80mill fan. Its good airflow across all heatsinks on your board. Noisy bastard at anything but 5v though

Oh, I wasnt trying to replicate a cros flow fan, I just needed a way to mount a 80mm fan cause Crucial Ballistix runs very hot especially at DDR550

Yeh, have a 120mm fan over the CPU block, has a good side effect of cooling the ram. and the PWMIC temps are down to ~55C

Still cant prime at 2.8 ghz, grr, might have to settle for 2.75

i found mine were high awell, so what i did i used the fan at the back as the case to blow air in on them with a duct. and also mounted a 120mm fan to my drive cage using cable ties. its owered it a hell of alot. make sure you have cool air comming into your case, or do what i do and leave both side always open, and just mount fans at the " hot areas "
