Does anyone know some good websites that I could use to replace newspapers?

For example I want a list of teh best sites under different headings, example for soccer
    sportinglife.com, football365 etc etc ,
I really want a list of teh best sites for music, album reviews etc, and business/investment

    thanks for help.

not a newspaper replacement by any means, but for technology links and news, slashdot.org and digg.com are good. Fark.com for other useless stuff. allmusic.com is good if you are searching for bands etc.

Woooh, slow down Einstein! Some of us aren't as sharp as you.

As internet humour goes, I’d give that a solid 5 out of 10, Femmy. Don’t mind the detractors!

    Google News for me!

Or BBC News as it has links to so many other sites with each report.
Unison.ie has lots of Indo group papers, register for free. I wouldn't visit it only The Irish times costs money :(

Also, I think the Chicago Tribune is free once you register, same with the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal as far as I remember (been a while since I visited).

Despite the silliness of Femmy's suggestion, the other fora on boards are quite good for news in Ireland :)

BBC.co.uk is still the largest internet site in the world I believe.
If you're into computers, www.theregister.com and www.slashdort.org are the best.
Generally, just go to the websites of the newspapers themselves...

Ruu just told you where it is, and exactly how to get there. And you're too lazy to go do it yourself?

lol - niiiice - good call. I also hate those predictable lame jokes. It's almost as bad as "Hey, where's Atari Jaguar?" when someone starts a poll.

Er, it should be slashdot.org...slashdort is only useful if you can read Russian.

    Or if you're from D4.

"Ya mumfy I was reading slashdort on moi Apple Powerboook, the one daddy bought moi when I got my Ourts degree"
