Hey, can anyone tell me if ALL atm machines that accept BOI 365 cards have an option just to check your balance?

    that is all.

Nope not if its another bank. I dont think the ones in centra's do either.

The BOI's in centra, easons etc. just give you a receipt anyway I think, you don't get a choice, so your balance is on that (unless the machine is out of paper)

Don't know why they can't do this. As far as I know, every ATM knows your account balance, its just that the ATM's are set up so they don't give balances on other banks cards. When I was over in Australia/NZ and Asia I was always able to get my Irish bank balance from any ATM. Pity I can't do the same here.

If you have Banking 365 why don't you just call them on your mobile, it's free?

You guys were right, even though the atm's in centra's are BOI branded 365 machines, it had no way for me to check balance, I took some cash out anyway.

Thanks for the help, this thread shall die now.

Mods, feel free to delete, but I am sure it will desend the first page rather fast. Peace out.

It's not free, actually. From a mobile you are asked to dial 1890 365 365, which is charged at 'lo-call' rates. For Meteor that is (for example) 15c a minute.

You can set up an online account in any BOI outlet they can help you through the stages its good.

    Try 1800 365 000

    You try it.

It either won't connect from a mobile, or you are asked to dial 1890 365 365.

I'm not sure how well other banks can see your balance.

I am a BOI customer and when my overdraft was maxed out I used to go to an Ulster Bank or AIB ATM and take out extra cash that way.

So if I had no more money in my account I could still take some out using the ATMs of certain other banks. Of course I got charged through the nose on interest but it led me to believe that other banks don't check fully your account balance or something like that.

Aye anyone who uses these forums and hasn't set up 24 hour telephone/internet banking should really get it done. I'd be lost without it.
