Feckin late delivery of chinese food!

    My chinese takeaway just arrived an hour 20 mins after i ordered. Awful. Why am i not upset? Cos i was rattlin away while i waited!

    Whats the longest you ever waited for a delivery and what did you do?

    Never have got a delivery, but i was in a take-away in one of my younger, patient days. was literally waiting half an hour before same waitress (for want of better word) asked me what i wanted. i stupidly re-ordered.

    and hour and 20 minutes?? was it still hot? you should have refused it or demanded it for free. whoever they are don't order from them again. i would have starved waiting that long.

    Yeah it was hot and the first time i rang them. wont be goin there again but at least the rattle while waiting helped build up that appetite!

    god i ordered mine at 10 past five and they said they wont be delivered till 6 cause thats when it starts yet i got mine at 10 to 6 :D

    Around 90 mins.

    Inevitably it did not taste good. The rule is - the longer you have to wait, the worse it will taste.

    True story:

    I once ordered a Chinese from a place in Skerries and it never came.

    Around two years later myself and my cousin went back to this other guy's house (in Skerries) after a night in the pub. We were supposed to be drinking cans and watching a video but he decided to crash out and go to bed. As he was going we asked him could we order a Chinese as we were hungry and if we waited until we got back to our respective houses the takeaway would be closed. He said 'no problem'.

    So we rang the Chinese (the one referred to above) and around 20 mins later the delivery guy turned up. My cousin took the food off him and said 'Hold on a minute my wallet is in the kitchen'. He gently closed the door and said 'won't be a second'. The delivery guy nodded at him.

    The two of us then opened the back door and legged it with the food. We made our way out over gardens and through the back of the estate.

    We found out the following day that the delivery guy waited patiently before ringing the doorbell repeatedly. Our mate's father came thundering down the stairs and demanded
    'What the f*ck do you want. I have to be up early in the morning'.
    Presumably the Chinese guy tried to explain that two guys had ordered food but the dad slammed the door in his face and went back to bed.

    Sweet revenge.

    But if it was hot on delivery I don't really see a problem, and also if the person on the phone didn't mention a delivery time then you have nothing really to complain about either.

    yes and he probably had to pay for it out of his wages. maybe he was a poor student or something. lol.

    Most places don't specify a delivery time, because it's reasonable to assume that it'll be there in 30-40 minutes. Waiting well over an hour is just a joke, particuarly if they didn't ring the OP and inform him.
