I think it's actually Snape who turns out to be Rab, and also turns out to be good. In book 6 attention is drawn to the fact that he calls voldermort the dark lord, AND a few of the characters say they always thought that Dumbeldore had a reason for trusting Snape. In 7 I'm sure we'll find out what this reason is, and I have a feeling he may sacrifice himself for Harry's sake at some stage.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!!

(Everyone's argued that, I think. I don't think so, because Voldemort tried to kill Harry, meaning it's unlikely he would make him a Horcrux just before he did so. Also, the only reason his attempt to kill Harry failed was because Lily saved him - not what Voldy planned. Unless one can make Horcruxes accidentally - I don't think so - then Harry probably isn't one.)
while what you say is true according to the books, noone survived the events of the house (apart from Baby Harry) to tell the story so it's possible that the generally accepted truth up to now is revealed to not be true. personally i'd love the idea that harry was a horcrux, in order to kill voldamort he'd have to kill himself.it gives the series a nice ending, but then i don't think it'll happen.

    What about Harry's flashbacks though?

good point they could go either way though, she could just as easily turn around and say that harry was too young and his memories are tainted by what people have said to him since,
remember memories can sometimes depict things as we wanted them to happen, not as they actually happened,
that said i'm willing to accept that it is a long shot.

He's had the flashbacks since before he knew he was a wizard, and as far as I know, no-one ever told him what way his parents were killed. So I think it's very unlikely all right.

Yes that would be a nice finnish:D I personally hate harry

i'm fairly sure harry will be the final horcrux because dumby kept telling harry thay voldi must have given him a piece of himself to make him parseltongue. hope not.....it is a bit predictable though.

I couldn't agree more! Unfortunately I don't see it happening...

Well, JK said the other day that "At least two of the main characters will die" in Book 7. I'd put money on one of them being Harry.

IMHO JK will see it necessary to kill off harry, it has happened before that another author got his / her hands on the copyrights and made a sequel, like for example there is another Bourne book being written even tho Ludlum is dead, JK will not want someone writing a sequel to this series.

[rant] (sorry in advance for stealing minutes of your time) about the whole Harry is a horcrux thing, you could talk the hind legs off a donkey defending either case.

Reasons why Harry is a horcrux:
Harry got some of Toms powers like Parseltongue.
Harry was not killed by the unblockable killing curse
Whenever Harry was touched by someone evil he would maim them, much like the locket / ring (can't remember which it was) did to Dumbledore
    [/rant]

Reasons why Harry is not a horcrux:
Voldemort states he used the Killing curse on harry in the graveyard
Harry recalls seeing a blinding flash of green light in his dreams, the colour of the Killing curse
Voldemort tries to kill harry on more then one occassion, surely he would want his Horcrux alive
While it is not stated that Horcruxes need to be inanimate objects, it would be very foolish to put your soul into something you cannot control.

I think these are the two strongest reasons, really. Unless he did it by accident and never realised it, and couldn't make anymore because he didn't even have a body.

oh to add another reason why he is a Horcrux:

the story so far is the killing curse backfired on Tom because Lilly died to save Harry, however what if in making Tom's 7th and last Horcrux his soul was torn into one too many pieces (7 being a very magical number) and Toms body couldn't cope so he was turned into 1/7th of his soul without a body

Why Harry is not a horcrux:

a big reason why he is a horcrux is that Tom gave Harry the power of parsletongue, but surely if Tom gave that 7th of his soul to Harry, the part which had parsletongue, Tom should not be able to use it himself

Just to clarify, when I said that I don't see "it" happening, I was referring to Harry being a horcrux. I think that it's highly possible that Harry will die (fingers crossed).

Well given all the horcrux talk.....I am utterly butterly confused:D No need to explain, just give me a few minutes!

I thought ROWLING would use onother caracter than Regulus Alphard Black, because it was an evidence thet he was R.A.B

Benson amy presented a bigger challenge because we suppose that she was not a witch and that she did not know the world of the magic consequently.
I would have seen well harry trying to redraw her life to find the missing horcruxe
The object would have been able to be found before the battle, there would have been more suspense.
Here I have the sensation that the story of R.A.B was sended by ROWLING

Are you drunk? This post makes no sense and it just dragged up a 4 year old thread????

It's kinda hard to understand your post, so I can't determine your reasons for thinking Amy Benson should have been R.A.B. However, since Deathly Hallows has now been published (and filmed, woot!), we know the reasons why R.A.B. had to be Regalus Black - it was a plot device to bring Kreacher onto Harry's side.

The OP's question has been answered by J.K. Rowling. If you want to debate "what if"s, I'd suggest a new thread, really.

I tought amy benson/RAB would be a better challenge than regulus.

The reason is she is not a wizard

Hmmm. I found sufficient suspense in Deathly Hallows myself, tbh.

Anyways, as previously said, the question has been answered by Rowling. I'm locking the thread as it is now redudant.
