boards history -- games

is it true boards started out as a bulletin boards for Quake and Doom gamers ? Do many of you still play or used to play these games or do you enjoy other computer games or like me have you given up on computer games altogther. I used to be into Quake a bit , havn't played it for ages though, and generally don't play many…

Do many of you still play or used to play these games or do you enjoy other computer games or like me have you given up on computer games altogther.
I used to be into Quake a bit , havn't played it for ages though, and generally don't play many computer ganmes now, the Play station is gathering dust .
Maybe its a sign of the aging process, that games don't really interest me much today, prefer more outdoor pursuits today.

Yeah its true, it was originally a hub for Irish Quake users, more history in the Biki, I still play Quake 2.

Wasn't it quake and then cs or something?
I play both. Well, just started quake's a few days ago.

Games will always have a place in my heart becuase it is fun to trounce somebody.

Afaik it all started from quake, My brother was one of the first 50 members on boards, always remember him playing quake over dial-up and then complaining when he wouldn't let me play it.
