Can anyone give me an idea of the salary for a trainee solicitor?

Also, after they have completed their training, what would the salary rise to?

    Thanks.

When you start your training contract your training solicitor is required to pay you a minimum of €360 per week.

After you have completed the PPC II your training solicitor is obliged to pay you a minimum of €428 per week.

These are the minimum amounts set down by the Law Society, but depending on the practice it could be more.

Thanks for that. Does anyone know if this is what people are paid, or do solicitors pay more than the minimum requirement?

Would it be possible to move this to the Legal Discussion forum?

It completely depends on the type of firm. Small firms will pay the minimum or ever so slightly above if you're lucky, whereas the top firms will pay €33k ish (or so I'm told!). Medium/large firms usually somewhere in the middle 25k ish.
