I'd prefer the one that doesn't spam other sites, pity that isn't an option.

voted sample 1 looks more professional or something!

Sample 2. But use the navigation links from sample one. The mailing list box seem to close to the main image, also the alignment of your image seems to be off a bit. Add a bit more content or image to fill it out more, maybe at bottom of page. Looks ok but needs some more work. ;)

Sample 1 but get rid of the hit counter and the DEXTRA text moving from left to right in the top right hand corner and use the images from sample 2 I think:)

    Neither really.

i suppose there are good and bad on both, i like the idea of a counter, just not that one,,,, i hate the moving stuff and loads of writing on the first one..

the second one is just a sample so far,, thrown together if you like....

    pros : band logo
    full band pic
    easy colour contrast

    still not decided.

    I dislike them both equally.

2 is a bit messy and and very amateur looking. Even at that i think version 1 could be a bit more uniform. I really like the logo though.

Out of all above, newsample.htm is best

Centre the picturea bit more and take away the underlining on the links on the left.

You should post this in the webdesign forum too:) (more spam:p:rolleyes:)

i'd go for a mixture between the two, but over all sample 2.

the phrase "maaaanchesta" comes to mind when i look at the pic in sample 1. also, the banner in sample 1 is pretty horrendous.

The less distracting picture from sample 2, combined with some livelier banners etc, would work better, imo.

newsample is my favourite [taking into account that it's not a very pretty site - compare with www.royseven.com a young Irish band], minus the annoying moving text, counter and with a better picture in the centre.

Could you replace the text links on the left with the images from http://www.dextramusic.com/home.html ?

As regards function, I clicked on your music and then 'play' and it didn't. So, I've no idea what dextra sound like and proabably won't be back to try again. Why do the links point to m3u files from cpu? Can you afford the bandwidth to host the mp3s yourself? Or at least link to the download links from cpu.

all the best with it anyways.

I wouldn't really compare the two. Without having listened to either of their music, and just looking at photos alone, I get the impression dextra just do it for a bit of craic whereas royseven look like they want to break into the charts next week. A site like royseven would cost a few K to do up as well, it's nice to have, but for a band just starting out, it's not really essential at all. Dextra even seems a bit easier to navigate than royseven.

funnily enough dextra have been around about twice as long as Roy Seven (formerly called Jove before they feiced off to germany)

Sample 2 looks a bit better. For a better opinion, you really need to ask these guys: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=23

But be warned, they will be brutally frank...

roysevens website is ok, a bit too flash for me, i like everything in one place and easy to see. they are linked to cpu so the cru count goes up, we have plenty of bandwith,.

as far as the rest of the site, its not finished, there are a lot more photos to go up, we are not full bent of breaking into the charts but are not just in it for the craic either, but if you dont have fun with what your doin, then theres no point, the music downloads should work though,,,

if anybody wants to listen to out music or watch a sample clip of what were like just check out our myspace site here

hanks for the feedback,, keep it coming.

ps, thanks dead air,, ill ask them
