Did todays sunny weather make you tired?

I spent most of today outside enjoying the sun. Nice, after being stuck in the office all week. Strange thing is though, I feel exhausted after spending a day doing nothing bar sitting in the sun. Does anyone else feel this or have any tips on how to avoid the tirednesswhile taking in the sunshine? Maybe I should be drinking more water or something, I'd like to know because I'm heading off to Majorca in a couple of weeks and I don't want to feel drained the whole time I'm on my my holidays.

Does the heat tire you out too? 67 votes

Yes! The sun makes me tired.. i feel so drained if I'm out walking in it. Makes me angry then as a result!

So it's not just me then! Maybe I'll just sleep all day when I'm on holiday - next year I'll go skiing :)

Probably not a bad idea to drink more water though, you can dehydrate very quickly in the heat. I find I get tired when my feet get too hot lol

I used to sit out in the sun and fall asleep and would be wrecked for the rest of the day when I woke up, not good :(

I found today (well....Saturday) a fierce annoying day :D , every time I went to sit and enjoy the sun I'd start falling asleep, it totally drained me today and does in general but today was particularly bad.

Make sure you drink plenty of water.

I used feel tired in the sun, and sufered heatstroke. Drinking plenty of water these days and dont feel as tired out there now.

Cutting my lawn for an hour in the scorching heat made me tired and so did working until now. Hopefully another great day of sun tomorrow. :)

I love the heat, despite the fact I burn like hell. Doesn't make me tired until you start talking about over 30 degrees!

Don't mind the heat either, doesnt tire me or anything, unless playing a sport or something ;) then it kills me

I already find it's a bit too warm for me liking.
I have a headache the whole weekend now. Not good. But all people seem to do, is lying around in the sun. It's like nothing happens any more. Everyone is out -- but just lying around on the greens!

Always find I get sleepy with the heat, but I do enjoy those afternoon naps. As mentioned above, dehydration can cause tiredness.

I'd like to think it's the sun that makes me feel lazy and tired, but it's more likely the fault of my alcohol consumption last night! :)

Just typical this, We spend the last two weeks moaning "is it ever going to stop raining" now we are about 4 days into what I call summer at last, and the moaning brigade is out, it's too hot, I'll have to water my lawn, I like it when it's cooler. SHUT UP I have lived in hope for this, and eventually it arrived :) And I hope it will stay this way till next October. Jeez, so what if it tires people out, I like it and spent today trekking up the side of a mountain to see the completed windfarm that has been built over the last year in my locality.

Hurray for the sun :):) Stop moaning already. I do find it more difficult to sleep as it was a little muggy and sort of heavy but I fixed that easily by setting my fan just a normal desk fan to full speed and timed it go off with a timer around 1o clock, I fell asleep as easily as I would in the middle of winter and also saved money in electricity by timing the fan. Then again it has to be running for 19hrs at full speed to burn one unit which is around 15 or something cents.

Well you're used to it!!! Not like us poor cold paddies!

Yeah myself and the missus are a little tired this evening. We went to Killiney which was gorgeous and climbed all over the hill.

It's different in other countries because it's not necessarily the same Irish humid-heat, which can get really stuffy and uncomfortable.

Having said that, I am enjoying it

Went for a sleep before Dinner!

Couldnt stay awake and had to lie down....the heat was a culprit allright....but I was doing more physical work today than normal.

Ugh, I HATE really hot weather. I'm absolutely exhausted but too hot to sleep; not a good situation at all. My only consolation is that I got to spend my day downstairs with the air conditioning instead of upstairs, which has been compared to a furnace. Oh happy days...

Well theres been a nice breeze blowing in from the coast last few evenings, so sleeping is grand, other than the fact that it is still brightat 10:30 at night..

Definitely drink LOTS of water as day goes on, going for a cold shower is good too!!

I'm tired cos I had to work 8 fecking hours today with a dismayingly bad hangover from last night's whiskey binge. Now I have to go out again but luckily I can sleep in tomorrow. Still, let's not whinge about the heat - we'll be back to the Irish monsoon season soon enough.

Thats the trouble with warm weather in Ireland, it completely drains all the energy from you. On the other hand if you are in Tenerife, or Spain or America over the summer, you still have energy to do things despite the heat.

I had a snooze yesterday before dinner but not today, was noding off alright though :)

I think it was lack of sleep combined with a hangover that made me tired more than the sun :D

How "hot" is it there exactly anyway? I've never seen it get beyond about 25 C in Ireland. It's about 38C here in Spain and I had to leave the library cos I wasn't getting any study done, it was like a furnace. Consider yourselves lucky!
