Anyone remember when these guys were traveling the country? They used to come to Carlow a lot and sent up shop across the road from me, awww....great times.

Perk was a bear I think, he used to live in a trailer full of straw......I found out in later life though that it was only a man dressed in a bear suit........so thats why the hat, and suit looked weird on a bear

Does Perks still exist as a travelling carnival?? Havent heard of them in yearssssss.

I used to work there. The bear is still there, he's called Perkie Bear. The bear suit feckin' reeks, so it does.

Haha, very good, I remember it well, I think he used to make an appearance on the last day, although his special trailer would be there for all to see for the duration of the carnival, he was inside though 'sleeping' :D .

    Good ol' days......

Perks (Russel 'John L' Perk) funfair is based in Galway for the summer months. They're building up the machines right now and will be here until the end of the summer

As John Cleary said, the travelling Perks as I understand it are based in Galway at Leisureland.
