Well its the bank holiday weekend & the weather looks set to be lovely for the entire thing, so Im looking for ideas of somewhere nice to go for a drive to & spend a nice afternoon doing something which will involve getting some sun. Im in dublin & just looking for things within say an hour, hour and a half drive away.

    Anyone got any ideas?

If you've never been, head to Newgrange. Great day out. Not too far either.

You could get a book on Irish holidays and study it. Then you might discover that it's not a Bank Holiday at all.

Dont go if you've a hangover. I did once, and I still havent properly recovered having went on every single ride there and then collapsing on the ground.
Oh I felt manly that day!!

Kilkenny for the Cat Laughs? Might be tricky to get tickets but it's usually worth a trip.

The bank holiday/public holiday thing wrecks my head. Bulmers are advertising as being what bank holidays are made for. Good Friday is the only bank holiday so I can only assume it's take out they're talking about.

Im sure its cheaper to make just one bank holiday ad for all of 'em rather than a whole ad just for monday..

Heading down for the Cat Laughs myself, if you're lucky you might be able to get some tickets off the site.

Kilkenny is always buzzing for the Cat Laughs, been down there over the last few years and it's a must, once you go there once you have to keep coming back.

Head to Powerscourt waterfall and Gardens
Excellent place to catch the sun.

Great idea, also made me think of the japanese gardens as a possibility too.

The Garden Party is another option, just an hours drive out of Dublin 4km outside of Athboy. That's where I'm off to myself ;)

But there's only one bank holiday! Good Friday. The rest are all public holidays. That means they've got the ad wrong for every long weekend in the summer. I'd better stop listening to the radio.
