Personally, I find the idea rather bizarre but maybe I'm out of touch with the Zeitgeist or sth.

I quite like the idea actually... a less formal mix of speed and internet dating. Wouldn't really use it cos I swim during my lunch hour but I can see the attraction...

Why me? I have been told Im an great lunch partner by several cell mates, and if your willing to make the trip up to "the joy" to see me i swear not to, -make lewd sugestions(for first 10 mins) -make inappropriate farting noises(first 5 mins) -grab (without reason)your ass/wallet/ handbag -eat with my mouth open -try and pretend I didnt really eat anything/fart remeber that these promises are aspirational at best other than that ,very much looking forward to meeting you i think.....

They have several dating services in California that serve professional women who want to meet professional men. The idea is that there is very little risk or commitment by having a lunch, whereas, going to dinner with someone implies more.

Like anyone watch the TV show "OC"? Well, I am sitting in a coffeehouse near the beach in OC and scanning a magazine called "OC Metro." There is a full page ad (May 25, 2006, page 77) of this grey headed guy in a business suit waving his fist in the air as if he just single handedly won the American Football Superbowl championship game. The ad is by "It's Just Lunch," a lunch dating service used to hookup professional women with professional men for lunch.
