want to help me out in making an Ubuntu Wiki on the boards.ie biki.
    http://boards.ie/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu

I was hoping on laying it out as follows, Ubuntu Linux then a list of solutions to Ubuntu problems thats are contained elsewhere in the wiki, if anyone would like to help me make this wiki I would much appreciated it as I have only been using Ubuntu for a few months now.

if you have solved any problems in Ubuntu please post them in the wiki and then post a link to you work here so I can add the link to the solutions section of the Ubuntu wiki section.

    Thank you,
    Jakkass :)

please sticky if this gets enough interest ;)

Is this kind of reinventing the wheel? I'd just use ubuntuguide.org or wiki.ubuntu.com.

Have to agree with Stephen there. I think it's better to keep useful information like that centralised.

Yeah I don't see the point really. The only reason I can think of for having it, is to use it as a place to link to the threads of the previous problems that have appeared on boards.

thats what I was going to use it for but meh seeing as there isn't much interest in it it can be deleted

I made a half-assed merge/rewrite/expansion. I didn't bother with wiki links or external links though.

    [wiki]Board:Unix[/wiki]

I agree with the sentiments of Stephen above that there is no need to reinvent the wheel, but I don't know of any non-specific centralised resource for unix-like systems out there. The page has some potential to be just that, but there needs to be lots more done with it.

I think doing what blowfish said (links to threads discussing ubuntu issues) will be a good idea.
