Well the best motor racing weekend of the year has arrived, along with the famous Monaco GP it's the annual running of the even more famous Indy 500!

So who do you think will take the glory this year? Sam Hornish Jr. has been dominant all month by taking the pole, topping the timesheets in every practice session bar one and been fastest in the important final practice on Carb Day..... he's been overdue a victory in this race and I hope it will be his year.

Wheldon, Castroneves or Hornish. I dont think we'll see a winner outside those 3. Hopefully it'll be a good race.

Oh, and how dare you leave out the Coke 600! I may watch the F1 parade also.

    SO cant wait for this.

Staying just outside of Indiana tonight, about an hour away (on a normal day), heading down around 7:30am to get sorted.
Its gonna be 90 frickin degrees tomorrow, im gonna totally fry on uncovered Turn 3.

Hoping for another Brit win for Wheldon, Hornish or spiderman might get the break he got though last year.

Still..im so excited and i just cant hide it...as they say.
Lost passport, nearly cancelled flights and two time zone changes in 24 hours but im there...
Look out for me ill be the one turning pink with the cans of guinness!!

A day later I'm still out of breath after that race. Probably the best motor race I've ever watched in my life..... simply outstanding racing, drama and entertainment! That finish is something I'll never forget.

Well you can't begrudge Hornish over his victory, he's deserved it after all the rotten luck at Indy. I didn't believe Marco Andretti was ready for these cars with his young age and lack of experience but did he make me eat my words or what! A few hundred yards from winning the Indy 500 at his age must be heartbreaking. He's megastar in the making who certainly has a 20 year career ahead of him now.

I hope the excellence and success of this years race will be the final nail in the coffin for the IRL/Champ Car split so we can have a truly quality lineup for next years 500.

All I'll say now is Formula What??? :p

Yep, Marco showed some real talent there. Looked like he was saving it all year long for that race :D I've watched that finish several times since last night, an absolute thriller. Hornish deserved that after all that bad luck at Indy. It's tragic that theres only 14 races in the IRL this year, and that most people wont even care there's a race next week now that 'the big one' is over. Tony George needs to get his act together, and we could have the greatest open wheel series in decades.
